Listening to my “intoApril” not very original new playlist title, I am typing at home for once. It includes such good singles picked out thus far from buku music pile up de beegee excursion: neko, shout out louds, triplets of belleville sdtrk., david crowder, equation…..too many others to list.

And then….I’ll take this blog to school necklacewise to post for your viewing pleasure a la Tuesday, March 28!

Since we got back from our wonderous familytime, it has been blurry work type of existence, as you boringly would assume. BUT WITH A TWISTY TWIST!!!!!!:

ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE! It has been 40-45 degrees all week and weekend, allowing for beautiful walks up and down our property line, mostly the highway side. If you try to enter the woodsies you take one step and sink down into a foot of snow, and then in another step you sink down with snow at your waist. NO JOKE! And not just for midget’s heights like me; you should see the dogs go for it! HAHAHAHAHA!

3/4th’s of our first Alaska teaching year (well my first year here at least) is ABOUT OVER!!!!!! With that brings crazy amounts of grading and scrounging students and teachers for that final 3rd quarter grade showing.

On to better news! THE ITINERARY is unfolding before us (Tracey, Matt, and I) and includes such goodies as Italy (Rome, Pompeii, beaches, Milan, Venice), into Switzerland (Alps and Zurich by train – oh wow, I just heard that statement for real just now – BY TRAIN YES!), onto Dublin from Zurich’s airport, IRELAND FOR 2 WEEKS, and then Scotland (Edin, Glasgow), ending in London for a couple days.

There you have the gist of the trip! I shall continue praying for safe travel.

Speaking of safe travel: THE PARENTS – Afff and England! Awesome! I’ve been spreading the word (again) to my colleagues and students about my intrepid parents (term stolen from dad?)! In fact this week my cinema class is being subjected to The Gods Must Be Crazy, The Power of One, Hotel Rwanda, and Millions! Africanesque!

Oh, on Saturday we had a curtain/special blind lady – not blind lady – come over and measure our regular and not-so-regular windows for light blocking shade. It was fun and expensive sounding. Sure we could do our own regular windows, but our great room requires precise measurements and appropriateness in rarity. That was interesting to have a visitor.

I’m telling you, visitors to your house……A NEW CONCEPT TO ME! Good and weird, weird b/c we are in the boonies I think. A first home. Ingenious! Hospitality, weird goodness.

Secondly Saturday (alliteration there), a dude came out to analyze our water and he was here way too long. It was interesting like a lengthy science lesson, that I didn’t really want to be a part of. Something good and different was his “feeling comfortable” to witness to us “quote” unquote that. He is a good guy and all, and gave us some insight into many, MANY of the churches in our area north of Anchorage here. That was interesting.

He encouraged us to find a church, sure, yes, but more cool was his delving into this advice: blend the Lord with sports! He does/did Christian hockey camps, etc. That was a good word from the Lord that I’ve heard a many these past few months. Common sense, oh it’s the simplest things we hear at certain times.

So go into the world and mesh and blend your talents and your world with His gospel! YES! We each have our role, be yourselves and live it up! And as I type this I think of my parents’ witness and example in their gifts! Ah ha! YES! Good, good.

“…..standing in a circle of quiet…..waiting for the world to turn….” – Over the Rhine, no relevance just a good song

“choose again to rise, choose to bless the Name” – Sara Groves, Kingdom Comes

KEEP GOING FOR YOUR DREAMS ALL YOUS, whatever they are!!! A few of mine are books, FCA, Ireland!
