Vegas was fun!

We did a lot of buffets, walking 8-10 miles a day literally, and hanging out together.

Some highlights were the following:

1. Reenactment/Impersonators of the Rat Pack. Very entertaining and fun, and it made me feel like I was there in the 60s at that Sands Hotel!

2. ESPN Zone bowling, hoops, interactive boxing, football toss, arcade driving, and golf. WOO! This was the best part for me, just loving sports!

3. Buffets!! Mandalay Bay had the best one in the world! Gourmet everything and humoungous amounts of choice ;) Monte Carlo, Bally's, Bellagio, and the Riviera were the other ones we went to. All excellent, except the Riviera! SICK - like a dorm cafeteria!

4. Wheel of Fortune slot machines! Probubly played $20-30 throughout the week, and won $25, $10, and other small amounts on the BIG WHEEL that spins at the top of the machine.

5. Black Jack Tables! $3 min. is good. I won $60 one day, and then lost $40 a different day.

Casey played "Let it Ride" poker and won $9 which isn't bad for how complicated and weird it is with the betting. To me it was like, "how do you know you're doing good?"

So this trip we ventured more into the table betting and it was a fun experience. I love winning and then walking away! On the last day Thursday, it was harder to do that, but we had to get back to Chow to pick Bo'ey up!

We got in last night around 7 p.m. and I guess today is Friday! WOO! So good to have time away from this place.

Bo did excellent at the dog boarding, and the lady said he was so good, and several of the people fell in love with him over the week :) Such a good doggie! Apparently and according to Casey, he's getting his wife this coming fall!

Today I have errands and many whatnots to get going on. We got Turbo Tax at Office Depot last night and already whipped through our taxes. We owe like $75 and will get nothing in return! STUPID!

Tonight I finish my "teacher portfolio" and tomorrow I send off my APPLICATION TO ALASKA!

Good to catch up on all your blogs! Have a happy weekend!

Could it be so..?

That sport is over everyone! We finished a strong 8-6, robbed in 3 of those losses.

We ended tonight after a week of driving all over California.

Today it started with a large rush through our high school lake, and ended with an off road experience and a high school van bath (*yet only for those who experienced those particular literal events). The absolute bottom of the barrel, much improved, Dos Palos Broncos went down with only 2 points in the first half, and a mere eleven points in total. Ten of 12 Chowchillians scored fifty-two points all together.

With a long slow game to enjoy one last time together, the little team is over!

I shall not coach another one of these Chow groups, and closure has come.

The muzzle is off, and the brain is loose. FREEDOM!

Praise You Almighty, BOOYA!

So, I've decided my team gift this year is a cd mix of hilarity and nostalgia. That'll be good, and nice.

And now the Sanfords drive to LV, Nevada!

The Sanford padres are all settled into the Boardwalk hotel, and we shall meet, wine and dine with them commencing tomorrow morning at 6:00 A.M.

Bocifus Elaine Sanford will spend time at a dog resort in Fresno, and will no doubt enjoy communion with some new canine friends. And no, that's not his middle name really, ha, HA!

In celebratory style, I have appled and strawberried my way to the computer while Vegas packing toils in the laudry closet. -previous sentence to be comprehendable soley by my brain I suppose :)

I'm thinking of my family and the world of basketball.

Two weeks ago I missed an old folks alumni game in which I received a sweetness of a black Nike Lady Jackets tshirt from Brook Mavis, Sr. not the Jr. It's been a good time in the Chow program, much gratitude to all I learned on that DC team.

And so, I have finally read some blogs and written words here...shortly now I'm off to a midnight packing without a diagram ;)

Mike, I like that poem that begins Ere on my bed my limbs I lay, It hath not been my use to pray With moving lips or bended knees; Who is S. T. Coleridge?

Can't wait to catch the Zebra tales, yum yum chop.

And to all a good night, I shall call you with Vegas excitement in the days to come!

p.s. Justin, even though Aussie world may be off for now, thinking of you, I took a stand on a painted drawing of it at our game tonight. We played at an elementary school, and our pregame meeting was outside stretching upon a world map.

Many of my players oddly sprinted to Africa yelling, "No, I get Africa, get off of Africa, that's the one I'm going to stretch on." And I proceeded to the neglected scuffy, Australian, concrete slab, and gave my pregame talk.

Movie Talk:

Just watched Garden State, and it was fun enough. The music was the best part! I respect that actor and him directing it and all, it was just a little anti-climatic for me tonight.

Maybe if I wasn't all haucked up on sugar I could mellow out with it. Still good to see it.

We're about to watch Collateral, which will be a movie I'll grade papers through I believe. We'll see I guess.

Last week I forgot to mention we went to see Aviator. It wasn't my cup of tea, but Casey enjoyed it, minus the Katherine Hepburn parts (actress irritation).

Wanted to see Hotel Rwanda today, but moola hindered it in regards to Vegas prep! That's right one more week till we see the Sanford's and just relax! Hope it's sunny there b/c our timeshare has tennis courts! YES!

Well, I'm trying to finish up my application process for Alaska this weekend. Back to focusing on that before Collateral!

p.s. Case has a phone interview from both the school districts he applied to! Exciting, and even more exciting if I can get the golden hand shake in from his special ed golden ticket!

Side bar: Michelle, hope all is well! Your blog really spoke to me tonight about letting God back into the center of our lives! THANKS! and take care for now! ;)

That Superbowl was so, so.

Today was one of those days, you go to work b/c you have to, and you really realize it's a nagging part of life!

UGH!

At least it's a coast really into a nice February break with some half days in there, equalling LAS VEGAS IN only 9 work days!

There was a good convo in the teacher's lounge today! One that I pushed b/c it's so annoying when people are whining about students, and for once it was not that!

It was a convo about our "second careers" and/or how we should write a book with excerpts from each teacher, just about the life of a teacher. One veteran, reserved and respected, got all into it and excited about having a compilation of stories from us all and really publishing it! OH MY!

So that was fun, and it all started with a Mission Organization (the show) discussion and how a few of us wanted to be interior designers when we did career papers in high school....all that thought b/c the whole English Dept. is teaching a humongous "I-Search" (career paper). Yadda, yah, dee, la, la, creepa, yeah!

Next Topic: The JV basketball program is about completed for the season. We are currently 6-4 in the league and play a team that we lost to by 1 point in the first round! REVENGE NOW!!

It went fast really, at least this 2005 part! Three practices left and 4 games! OH WOW! And apparently we're going to Coach Carter as a team outing next week to end it all! I need to check the reviews on it and/or have parent permission on it.

Well, that was quite a slur of info from my life! I have to get to work now on some more on my portfolio and resume stuff. Have a great week you all! Miss you lots!
