HAPPY ANNIVERSARY parents!

Casey and I finished the week strong after dropping the parents off at the airport Wednesday evening. Playing hooky for the last hour and a half of school, we got a great appetizer meal at Simon and Siefert's cool modern saloon place (in Anchorage) - great food (HALF PRICE!).

Later we enjoyed Anchorage rush hour traffic, much to mom and I's knitting chagrin, well my chagrin impatience. We were headed to the Peanut Farm, who would want to be caught in traffic when you're headed somewhere so fun!

There was a million baseball games on big screens all over the Peanut Farm sports bar/restaurant. Also good food: PIZZA! Mom and I knitted at the dinner table?! Shame, shame. Joy, joy, hilarity!

It was a grand time with you parents! Thanks for flying all the way up here!

So, tonight we are just unwinding and will probably take in Hot Fuzz. I also rented Year of the Dog (Molly Shannon) and The Wind that Breaks the Barley. I'm excited. Need to catch A Good Year (Russell Crow) and Extras Season 2 (yes they have it at our blockbuster - best!). Can anyone pick up that I'm reliving last summer's trip to Italy and Ireland....well now you must.

Looking forward to a nice weekend. Except....chagrin like we have to spend an hour or more at school Saturday practicing for the first ever Young Life meeting at our high school, which is on Monday. Casey and I are into it, but into it so much on a Saturday night.....

A bit sleepy sounding blog tonight, but don't worry, life is good! And so, the weeks are sprinting by. All of the sudden I am having to run around with some bball fundraising and a fall league. Oh! Love it or leave it! I'm lovin' it!

Hope your fall days are pretty, pretty pain cave Mike Myer's like!

Tomorrow we dine and chill in Anchorage before send off of the Padres to the World Series. Or the Indians!

I am up late, just because. Apparently I'm trying to move my Monday night party thoughts to Tuesday? Yes.

Dogs have been wildly whistly and barky lately and that is irritable enough, but luckily I have a bunch of wonderfully new media to draw my attention to in joy! Like A Fine Frenzy and Page, on continuous play. Much more to explore and get into. Thanks Dad!

Feelin' draggy now as it is almost midnight. So this blog has an abrupt lame, yet enthralling ending. Enthralling b/c I blogged in the first place, ha! Too much partying to blog, will update someday soon. Like maybe after I sleep for the next 10 evenings. Cat naps x50 hours each.

Mom and the kitties are reunited in 2 days! Hooray for that Dakota household. Have a good rest of the week yous.

"That chick is borderline Amish."

Sorry I said that today about a student.

"So...you're so European...." - one of my favorite Parker Posey quotes- For Your Consideration

Gearing up for the fall tv lineup for some reason. Office of course, Earl - on the first episode where they are singing, Bionic Woman (1 time), Las Vegas, Chuck. Others that I'll pretend to watch along with those for one week, then I become a basketball coach. It's more fun to hoop it up, but the tele is worth a shot for a few weeks.

The new Geico commercials are clever and unexpectantly hilarious! Catch one for yourself this weekend.

We're just chillin' by the fireplace as orange, yellow, burgandy grace the outside ceiling and partly the ground. It's dark now, but I am reflecting on how much I enjoy the fall, however short lived ours is.

Tonight, we found out how much money we get paid to live in Alaska. Simply by living here? You know it!

Might have a chance to go to NYC for teacherhood in the middle of November, but I think I just jinxed it by typing that. So forget it now! Opposite day, reverse pyschology. Come on, come on.

Can't wait for dad to get here Saturday! I'm in rare form mentally, funny things, funny things. Weekend soooooooon!!!!!!!!!!!

Heard a volvo commercial with Stephin Merritt (of The Magnetic Fields)?

"Wheels on the Bus" cover song

looking for a blog post free link....

Normal, good week going on with Page soundtracking.

Yesterday mom and I went to a quilt shop and mom got a really neat jacket pattern! Wish I could have bought her the example jacket there!

We headed over to a fun, quirky "general store" type place for free mini bags of popcorn and browsing old signs and clocks and old keys - fun things to look at in my opinion. Stopped at a nice little wrap and smoothie place too! Yum yum chop! But then again did you know I was going to throw the chop adjective in there? YES!

Wednesday already tomorrow, somehow. Okay then.

Me, myself? I've been getting really pumped for bball! It doesn't even start till after Thanksgiving! Fun to plan! It's only been what.....8 years of coaching under other leaders. Now, I do whatever I want! HAHAHHAHAHA! Fun things, fun things planned.

Happy mid-week blog catch up on Mare to you!

Great, fun day - no thought of school at all ever. Do I even have a job?

As you can check out on mom's blog, we had a great Alaska fall day today! A nice walk by the creek with the dogs. A drive to Talkeetna for a nice little meal, good ice cream treat, and got to see one of my teacher friends!

Mom and I have been enjoying some Nertz playing and some knitting. Casey has been enjoying a good long weekend of relaxing too, and football.

By the way, here are some movie review opinions of mine from the past few weeks:

3:10 to Yuma: Good western pace, unpredictable, great ending minus something sad, good acting and overall solid enjoyability. A.

Fracture: I fell asleep after lotsa pizza. Was pretty good for the first half. Then I thoroughly enjoyed mom's good summary of the rest and feel no need to watch it again myself. C.

Tomorrow is the start of a new week, the first full week in 2 weeks for us school heads.

More importantly, mom and I have a small adventure to quilt shops and other Palmer cool shops tomorrow starting at 2 p.m.! Looking forward to dad being up here this coming Saturday!

To conclude this one: thoughts and prayers to the Goods. Farewell till next blogtime.

Quick blog to post some pics. Dogs are being sweeties, Mom and I are knitting scarves and purses, Casey is relaxing by the fire and watching Ohio State football - he takes care of us in food and warmth, and Mom has created an immaculate DC tshirt quilt to fruition in less than a week! Beautiful!

Take care for now. Much thought and prayers to The Good family and all.

Couldn't resist putting that champion picture of me up on the mountain top. Rocky Balboa (is that a good movie - should we see it?) I shall associate the picture with finishing my DC book, taking my team the farthest in history this winter season, and going for a week without chocolate (that was last week though ;)!

So! Howdy doo!

Had a good day of grading papers all the while administrators talking about computer workings I have been doing for 2 years now - lots of new teachers to teach.

At this juncture, Mom and I are taking in a layed back but obnoxious Laverne and Shirley dvd episode - borrowed from a friend. No commercials!

Mom made some amazing progress on my DC tshirt quilt and I'm excited to get the backing fabric tomorrow and keep it moving.

Look Justin! Mom took a sun coin picture!
Check out Mom and I on a wonderfully sunny and mountainous afternoon on Hatcher's Pass!

It's great to have my mom here! WOOOOHOOO! Who can say that enough!

I've been playing with the difference of pseudobook quality and blogger "plain folk" users and trying to post a picture on mom's blog. Did you see how huge it was, hahahahha! By the way mom is blogging, so check it out on Joan the Quilter link de la Bruce's.

Here is the picture that is suppose to be smaller on mom's:

Have a good Tuesday now ya hear!

Joan is heare!!!!!

We are pursuing the lemonjuice extraordinaire of delicacy cleansing as of the this minute. And that after a day of nice blueberry pancakes, relaxing, property viewing, peaceful fall rain, and an adequate deli sub sandwich (just par)!

It was a nice drive home last night from Anchorage and who knows what day it is: my mom is here!

Work, smerk happens tomorrow but no students. Pointless, but quick and back to tshirt quilt pursuits with mom!

Last week Casey took off to Kashwitna Lake with our friend Doran and got himself some rainbow trout! Here's a pic of it finally.

Hope your weekends were fruitfully, fruity and cleansing, HA!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

You're such a fun loving, sports teaching, great Dad! I always cherish playing catch, no beans, and watching in wonder at how you love us, take care of, encourage us, and cherish us!

Although, no one can top your amazing birthday well wishings on your blogs, I hope you know you're loved, admired, respected, and cared about from so far away - ALASKA!

Can't wait to see your wife this Saturday, and you in a few weeks! Have a great, great birthday Dad!

A fun picture to end with!
