Well, the weekend is admist us!

And yet tonight I got some disturbing news (see emails - close friends and fam :( :(

Otherwise, please pray for the Mavis family - any and all readers of blog.

So this week was busy, and I was ready to be back at work. I've really gotten into preparing the classes for standardized testing and writing etc. It requires me to have a super high grading papers turn around. Feels good to give them solid feedback so quickly though.

Anyways, tomorrow I have "Snack-n-Chat" responsibilities and I will provide the following to teachers one and all at 10:08 a.m. in the teacher's lounge:

My snack list: Hot Wings, Mudd Pie (gummy worms, oreos, cool whip, and chocolate pudding :), celery and cucumbers, and pretzels.

Here is a small rendition summary of San Diego Time:

1. One small surf session - intimidatedly bad, but worth the try,
2. Really got into Twin Peaks - late at night, scarily not a good idea.
3. Ate lots of good food made by Tracey, well and Matt.
4. Ate at Hodad's, Sonic, and Barney's Beanery (last two in L.A.)
5. Had a fun little time around Hollywood, Amoeba Records, poster shops (too expensive but cool), Santa Monica...
6. At Barney's Beanery there was shuffle board coolness! Gotta make one of those for my house in a couple years.
7. Good layout times with Trace.
8. Watched some NCAA excitments.
9. Good hike at Mt. Rockyness Straight Up (fake name there)
10. Saw Millions and liked it.

All in all, I guess the saying is truly going for me like the following:

"Work hard and play hard" Although getting worn out, I loved every minute of the trip, and I'm all refreshed actually back to work.

Blog brought to you tonight by: the new Eisley album (so good) and Palomar's new album (sounding more and more like Belle and Sebastian - but BETTER).

Full day o' fun!

It was a beautiful sunny (60 degree-ish) day in S.D. today. We went to Dog Beach and surfed it up in dog poop. Just kidding about that dog grossity.

Matt and I braved the surf and it was intimidating to me after not being at it for so long. I got up a few times and then felt that laying out was more important! HA!

So that was our morning through mid-afternoon today! After Matt headed to watch some ball, and as J was off galavanting around in the shopping arena, Tracey and I went hiking at Mission Valley (State?) Park.

It was 1.5 miles straight up a mt. and very challenging. A good challenge! Getting back to the condo just recently here, we're just hanging out , eating pizza, listening to muzak, and gettting ready for the TMBG CONCERT! WOOOOO!!

Some past events worth mentioning:
1) Tracey and I went to an improv comedy club last night as the brothers konked out. - funny stuff! Silly more like, but worth it.
2) Layed out yesterday at Sunset cliffs - our first real day w/out rain! Stupid El Nino, Jr. effect.
3) Justin, Tracey, and I went to Hodad's while Matt had to finish his last day of work before this spring break time! YUM!
4) Chocolate milkshake at Hodad's! OH

MY!

5) Matt and Tracey's new car and new floors are really nice :)

Gotta eat pizza now! Have a great Easter time! Thank You Lord! p.s. we're going to church tomorrow near Matt's house, then we'll head to Encinitas or Sunset Cliffs to lay out some more.

Come on, I can't be as white as I was and be an actual resident of California - now can I?!

Side note - Mom I read your blog! Very cool, very interesting (did I already say that on last blog?) Dad I'm reading yours. Keep up the good work ;) Go for that book finishing fun! Ahhhh...that's a good feeling!

Oh, and Justin got me Hoosiers as a gift today! YAHOO! I will watch and love it, and then relive it with my DC BOOOOOOOOOK! check ya

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE-O!

The 2-1-st! WOW! Booyaka!

Anyways, so hiyalls elses!

I'm here in S.D. and Tracey and I are about to do some PeeLatees!

Lots of good hang out times and sun and fun! WOO! Good sun today, finally after 3 days of sprinkly rain and whatnots!

Great to hear Joan Edwards is back in town! I've missed her, and as always when visiting with one half of the fam, I really miss everyone being together ;(

:)

Well, this is just a quick boring blog to say hi and later I'll recap the good week!

I'd like to give a shout out to Anna W! Gotchore email! It is true about Alaska, and it is true that I shall someday make it to NYC! In fact, I was secretly thinking I could fit it in this spring, but alas with getting ready to move by June 5...it's looking complex!

Another shout out is to Michelle and Hannah (the little) who I just found out are going to be here in S.D. later in the spring during our bike event etc. NICE! That will be so fun!

Saw a hilarious thing in my journal from 10 years ago:

"Grampa says to Matt (about dying his hair), "Well, if it doesn't bother your conscience then you're fine."

Earlier tonight I wrote...thee below sloppa mahagna (over exaggerate the hag part there please)...

Go Bucknell Bison!

Weird, and sweet to catch that upset in this March madness that surrounds us now. There has been some good basketball on lately. I've been catching games and highlights - even of NBA and there's just been some sweet moves and explosive dunks to the hoop!

I love that sport.

Good to hear Dad is home safe and sound. You have some great stories dad. When will you publish them in physical paper form to me only? Happy resting to you, you deserve it.

It was great chatting with Matteo and Tracey tonight in a spring break hoorah like fashion! Good news with your new car and can't wait to see those hard wood floors. Enough talk, let's get it going on!

Before that though, Casey and I will relax in true form. We'll head to Modesto to watch the Scott Peterson trial live ...oh sorry that was creepy to slip in there...

We'll really be ordering a truck bed cover for our trip up north. "North to the Future". That's really Alaska's motto everybody! Oh and last night this show called "House Hunters" on HGTV had a family house hunting in Anchorage! AWESOME!

That reminds me, I want to try to find that Goo Goo Dolls in Alaska DVD once and for all in and around S.D. next week. Maybe even in LA if we end up going there for fun! Side note:YAHOO to Matt's long weekend extension from "the man"!

Too good, this spring break feeling is. Too, too....YESYESYESYESYES!

Justin's on his way west!

Dad's on his way in a couple days!

Mom's all Rwanda emersed! Whatta week!

Tomorrow is Thursday, and wow, already!? San Diego is getting more loosely defined and that is great. Now we will basically be hitting Encinitas camping and a great finale of TMBG concert!

Can't wait to relax, surf, eat, and chill with my two brothers and Tracey!

I'm going to workout now, maybe run errands to prepare for Justin, and rest.

Lots of reading in class today, and my eyes are tired.

Nothing exciting to blog! Sorry so boring :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTIN!

Such a fun, funny, creative, and amazing brother to have as my second youngest! Love you lots, and can't wait to see you this coming weekendish!

And...hello all! Thank God Monday is over! WOO!

It was completly awesome to see and hear all about Dad's trip thus far! Wish mom had more access to the internet, but alas it's Africa right?

Tonight one of the bball parents is putting on a team dinner! Our banquet was last week and you know we're done with the season, but I'll take free food and some last good times with the squirts.

Looks like it's concertville in S.D. next week! Can't wait to see Justin early on and then the rest of the week with the Matt and Tracey bro and sis!

So, ewe gross to me still being at work when the day has been done for 35 mins! But now I'm off to run errands before the din din. Have a good night!

TGIF, beyond an unbelievable belief today!

It's spring break right?! AHh, one more week.

So I just read a bunch of blogs from Michelle that I had never seen! How weird, how cool!

It was so crazy b/c I've been going through some the exact same funk as you Michelle!! ..."slowly let myself become the center of my world and not God. I had basically become my God."

So messed up when this goes on! Argh to flesh!

Anyways, we/I was going to have a garage sale tomorrow, but decided against it. We're going to have one bigger one in May -- I don't know why I wanted to have two annoyances...heh.

So after I decided that, it was a huge relaxing weight off my shoulders! NICE! Now let's TGIF this night with some Return of the Jedi and popcorn! WOO!

Great to hear the creative force is with the bros! Get those labels rockin' and rollin'. Mike I wish your March 24 time was April 24 b/c I could go to it then!

Have a fun weekend all you party people!

Thursday, March 10, 2005

So I'll bet mom is on her 43rd gorilla family teaching...like helping that 43rd one get done by the Amani women folk.

Was it fun to reunited with old friends there? I'll bet! And there's more there too that you didn't know before!?! NICE and FUN!

Matt and Tracey your floors look immaculate! Beautiful and sharp! Can't wait to see them in person.

Well I'm taking the trash out, and going running! There's an alarm going of across the street that is really making me want to spring 5 miles!

For a Thursday too, I have much school work going on! ARGH! I'm gaining a stronger work ethic every day right?

OH, I've gotta fill out an online Anchorage app. before my chores (Ha, I knew there was a reason I was online!)

So, even though I sent a paper copy to Anchorage, they have new online policies! Impressive, I suppose.

Happy Weekend tomorrow to you all!

"What's that blue thing...doing here!"

Hello my British Mom! Hope your flight went smooth and well. Now you get to enjoy Heathrow and a little shopping (so Dad tells me they have better shopping than Gatwick?!).

I'll be thinking and praying for you of course! Enjoy the fun life!

Anyways, today was good and busy. My classes have been doing a huge research project and it is finally over! Man, now what to teach for the 40 days left in school....puke!

Onto better fun things, SPRING BREAK! I hear Mike is already on his and that's fun!

Speaking of spring break, I've been tallying up some exercise so that when we get there (S.D)...well ...we can do more exercise! HA!

I've been running or biking and/or both of them every day, except weekends. Pilates, stretching, strength training....it's so good to NOT coach softball!

So Trace, you know I'm interested in the detox. I'm thinking I would like to officially go full go with it after spring break? I'm already on my own little detox right now. Chocolate detox that is, HA!

Except last night at my banquet my team got me a bunch of chocolate, but more cooly they got me some "Movie Tickets Gift Certs". VERY COOL.

The banquet was super nice and fun. I was nice to everyone and they were all nice back. How special ;)

Gotta go live some life off the computer screen! Love ya all - chat with ya soon :)

One blog a week is very bad Maria Conchita! There, I gave myself a lecture.

Now back to it. I miss writing and communicating! ARGH!

This week was some sort of obligatory, "get back into giving full attention to my job" type of week. Severely forced too. It was like my mind, soul, and body were screaming at me to leave! NOW THAT I'M FREE FROM coaching.

So since I got that week out of my system, I would like to ablidge a bow out to the extra hours of pointless stress put into the work place.

Instead, I would like to actually work, finally, once and for all, no regrets, give my all, 117%, go for my DC book and other various short stories that explode out of me at almost every observance throughout these odd Chowchillian days.

Such odd people in this place. Oddities so ....so worth writing about!

Oddities like the giant from happy gilmore! Does anyone know who I'm talking about?! He was also in James Bond movies and like Canon Ball Run. Anyways, he was our bball game with Yosemite a couple weeks ago. JUST BEING A GIANT with a cane DAD of a senior Yosemite bball chick.

Did I write that a few weeks ago!? Oh well that's dumb if it's redundant.

Anyways, the basketball banquet snuck up on me quickly with it being this coming Monday. I'm going to delve into my video camera/computer program and see if I can't come up with a highlight tape? Shoore.

Some things I've been thinking about:

1.Piano scarves.

2.Getting Casey's acoustic guitar out.

3.Tehachapi: "they used to be in the desert leagues...but then they came into the central section" -Chowchilla high school athletic director about a new team in the central California sports section. So odd. The desert leagues.

4.A recent fraud scheme from the Vegas local news program last week:
"Who are your pilots?" (newscaster to weird old secretarial lady at a flight school)
"Well,...there's Lenny, and there's...Andrew...and there's a Bobby..."
"Ladies and gentlemen she is out right lying according to police. More on that story live at 6."

5.Bo with a real bow tie around his neck for his marriage to the girl dog he'll meet this fall. You know you can picture his tuxedo fur and then that bow tie debonairing (sp?) it up for his big day?

But no, we don't want to dress him up any other way. No offense to those who put sweaters on their dog. Or sweaters on their stuffed racoons for that matter.

By the way March 14 and 25 are almost here! Let's get excited you two bros!

Well, I will end with a comment about some movies I have seen recently:

Coach Carter: I liked it! Too much cussing. Worth seeing if you like the sport. Worth a $2 rental or free.

Friday Night Lights: Predictable. The camera techniques grew on me. Great music! The story grew on me, especially after you see the true story behind it all. Again, great music!

Swingers: Hilarious and dumb. A 4 p.m. nap watching. Funny for every time they yell, "You're money man, you're money!" "Dude you're so money!" - Vince Vaughn back when I sorta liked him. He's ridiculous now.

Rocky IV: Surprisingly boring. It was a blast back in 6th (or so) grade. I had the soundtrack. Oh well.

And some music I'm listening to:
"Since you been gone" by Kelly Clarkston. Yeah I know! It's so catchy though.
"Eleanor" by Low Millions.
"I want to break free" by Queen. A Coke commerical. Good stuff! A final touch to my time in central California! bye bye now.

Well, those three songs are a cry for Tower help. And that cry has been put into my S.D. budget.
