Today was a day wasn't it now!?!

Enjoyable blogs Mateo!

Wish blogs were more frequent from all but alas there is the tele that I could pick now isn't there?

Wait is this blog going to be all rhetorical questions?! No, no.

Hit the treadmill tonight! Pizza it is, as leftovers from puny Astros parties amongst ourselves.

My favorite new thing to say to whining students (and yes there are a lot lately....they literally need the snow to get their energy out - at least that's what I'm told)

Me, quite loudly - "Are you familiar with Justin Timberlake?"

Unsuspecting random student a few seats away from a whining kid - "Uh, yeah"

Me - "Oh I so totally love that song 'Cry Me a River', don't you? It's so lyrically perfect, don't you think?"

Them and others, "Oh, gross, he's horrible, but......heh.......(oh I'm catching on, ha,heh,ha).

Looks dumb in typesetting but in person you would enjoy it too.

A la weekend!

Busy school!

Busy dogs!

Sad Astros :(

It's the end of the first quarter and it makes for fast days!

In more exciting news we met with the builder and by the end of next week our house will be completely plumbed, electrified, roofed, sided (siding), windows, and with real doors - to be locked for protection of construction equipment.

We are really impressed with it's size (and cozyness factor); our "master bedroom" upstairs is a lot wider and bigger than in the plans! It will fit a nice king size bed that we're not allowed to get until we're retired.....you know I'm against that statement from el Caseyo.

Something cool and crazed is that the guy who drilled our well several weeks ago turned around while at his truck one evening and a 7 foot black bear was about 20 feet from him before it ran away!!!!!!! WHAT?!?! ON OUR PROPERTY!

It was the only day he didn't have his shotgun too! Scary! Also, we had a huge woodpile stacked strong that got demolished by bears the other night on our property! I.....guess.....I......have to learn how to use a 250 Remington shotgun according to our funny realty guy Dustin.

Did you know that Willow (our hometown) has upped the hunting permits from one bear per year (to shoot) per person to three bears allowed per person b/c there are so many bears?!?! WHOA!

So, we should be able to shoot some bears and moose right on our property and eat them! And skin them, and then sit on them as rugs. Nice :)

Speaking of moose, Casey stepped outside our rental door last week at dusk and there was a huge mom moose with her calf about 10 feet from our front porch. Just chillin and eating grass, then running away when we officially came out to the truck. No wonder Bo was going whacko! He often does later at night and we wonder if a bear is on our porch.......

So, so, so, we have started the weekend early to boost the morale of our teacherhood. Pizza, 'stros, some online fun, dog fun, yeah, yeah, yeah.

About our dog: she is one sassy mo'! Hoppity skippity snipping at Bo and taunting him oh so cutely. She's so tiny! She is learning how to whine when she needs to go outside, and has already learned how to sit on command!

I'm about to get some pictures out via email if you're interested. I gotta get one of her flat on her stomach, sprawled out just chillin'! She's way more independent, self sufficient, and chilled out than Bo was/is. Just give her a new bone to chew on and she's good for hours........

Until Bo comes around and tackles her!

Even on the way home from Anchorage the other night she just layed in the middle seat and chewed on a bone, then fell asleep right by me. Like she's known us forever!

OFFICIALLY SHE SHALL BE NAMED:

Sierra Front Storm on her birth certificate. We don't need any prepositions in her name from last blog, come on now.

Well, I must unwind a bit more and get the light out so the canines will sleep. Happy early weekend! OH YEAH!

Storm of Sierra Front is officially here!

We have named her Storm as planned and for bloodline/breeding purposing she has Sierra Front on the end to indicate where she came from.

She is smaller than Bo was when we got him, largely due to her being only 8 weeks and Bo was 10 weeks when we got him.

Storm is a lot softer, furrier, stockier, and stronger (make sure all comparison adjectives are in agreement?) in comparison to Bo as a laddie. Bo was always so skinny and gangly (sp?) and still is. That little curious guy is out of control being buddies with Storm instantly! Storm likes Bo too but doesn't like that he's so much taller and stompier than her. She is fiesty and a little hold her own type, snapping and yipping at Bo when he paws at her little furry back.

Really cute! Will throw some pictures around sometime. The guy in Nevada who sold her sent us a whole cool binder of info on her and Karelians in general. He also sent a cd of 20 or so pictures of her growing up! Fun! We will copy his ideas like so when we sell some Boey kids. WHO WANTS ONE!?!? :)

That won't occur for 1-2 years, don't worry weirdy thoughts. And Dad that is disturbing about watching his wife grow up.....but let's just call them high school sweet hearts.

There's been good songs on my Itunes mix that help ring in the cool, cozy morning of a downpouring Alaskan rain. Amid the listening of some Cardigans, Herb Albert burst through and then there was Michelangelo! Wish I could come to your pizza party Justin!

So random on TMNT b/c a student found one on the ground at his house this week and brought it to school; put it on my window sill with Chewbacca and Monsters, Inc. guy; it was Donetello.

Good California details dad! Makes me nostalgic and I too have the California bug and that will never go away. That's neat that Fresno in all its wonders (ha!) might be a common stop for your exploits. That gives me an excuse to tag along and stop by Chow every 5-10 years or something! HA! Thanks for the reminders of that land.

Well, today we'll get our mail from yesterday and today for we are waiting for our "retirement" loan checks to get here so we can pay Casey's fam back and get our house downpayment going.

Aside fun, my upperclassmen are intrigued that I listen to good music or even music at all. Your basic forgetfulness that teachers are humans. HA! To them good music is Fall Out Boy (I listen to them? not really) but they're shocked of an Emo, folk, and other rock music history past I have slopped in my desk drawer to bust out before and after school. I need a job where I become one with a Nano......

Even in all those genres, I would have to say soundtracks (non-lyrical) are my favorite at this time and have been for a while now....except when an old pinback comes on like right this second :)

Anyways, I told them how deprived they are in regards to concerts....that depressed them AND ME :( Will fly to S.D. some random week and hit the scene someday.

Don't forget to hear about my aromatherapy craft class from today at 1 p.m. on next blog!

Hello Friday!!

OH YEAH!

Super excited for Anchorage immediately after school!

I got a new single called "Struggle" by Ringside that I saw on a Pontiac Torrent SUV dealio. It's pretty much my entity right now lyrically meaning......maybe some others are in the same position (Tracey, Justin). Try to catch the commercial or I can send you the single.

Hey! I've been waiting for literally 6 weeks to get the rest of the Itunes Death Cab video download and it takes like 20 hours to download half of it.

POINT BEING I still didn't get the New Porno's album yet. It's just sitting there waiting to be downloaded. Full force this weekend to get it!

Saturday I'm going to an AROMATHERAPY (potpurri) making craft class that is offered at the Willow Library! HA! YES! And I will also attend a real wreath making class in November so we can adorn our new house with it for the holidays.

Well I am delieriously typing this at 5:50 a.m.! WHAT!!?!??! UNREAL!

New dog today! Hope a quilter's retreat is great and that the Californians enjoy the stomping ground :)

Another week poofed up into the air! WHOAWOWWEE!

Chirpee weather hereadays, moutains almost completely covered from top to bottom.

It was payday today; we get paid every 2 weeks and really like it this way. God is good.

Just heard of a funny new medication called Boniva on tv just now. Hilarious! BONIVA! Just the sound of it, nothing to do with it purpose which I don't remember what it was. And man, Amy Grant's Three Wishes is so SO touching...ahhhhhh!!!!!

This week in class I demonstrated prepositional phrases with a sestet (six line) poem of, "There, that's me....I was at the running of the bulls and I fell....I started saying shhh......as I was falling...." It was funny to me at least and I showed a clip from the movie. You know which movie maybe?

Five bonus points for anyone who can translate this lyric:

"He's a Boey-tist, a Boey-tist of ladies....."

Hint: mad props to Matt who brought Purple Tupee into our lives circa 1990ish.

And the Digital Underground and Public Enemy albums. I was just thinking of those days tonight......George Harrison, "Got My Mind Set on You".....so long ago!

And now to end a blog on some amazing lyrics:
"Hopeless bleak despair, it was always there, and then one day it disappeared...in a puff of smoke, in an unceremonious way, one day it disappeared..." YAH! I interpret it as Cristo es mi Salvador!

GUESS WHAT!??!?!

OUR GARAGE IS FRAMED UP!!!! And HALF OF OUR HOUSE! It got its subfloor yesterday and today they constructed the whole garage and 2 of the house walls - one of which was the picture windows and fireplace side!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

The garage is huge! Seriously! Probably bigger than our house! It has so much room for our truck on one side and the Jeep on the other with a whole 6 x 12 left over on the left side where our water heater, washer/dryer, and some tool shop storage area! Looks big and tall!

The house looks cute and I think it will be bigger than we think b/c we are picturing a dinky place. It will be cozy, but one of the rooms downstairs will be bigger and we'll have an upstairs. I mean come on, it's just Casey and I, we don't need 40 rooms.

So, Mom was that guy serious about your Narnia license plate being illegal!!?! If so, duh. :)

And oh yeah to the month viz and doing some tshirt quilts! I would love it! I too feel like I haven't talked to Tracemeister in a long time, but alas emails are wonderful Ireland methods!

Um......well....so....I had to referee tonight and it went well enough (I'll earn about $200!). And....I'm considering coaching JV bball my people.

Coaching.....again.

I'm into b/c it's kind of oddly weird and good up here. They have literally 4 sports seasons. Fall sports start in August and end in September. Then there's a half winter/half fall season, an actual winter season, and then a spring sports season.

POINT BEING, the season for JV ball would be about 1 and 1/2 months, 12 games....hmmm.....official house and Ireland money.

HOOOORAY FOR FRIDAY! Live it up!

A crispy foggy morning and only the Patriots and Atlanta are on! We had a good homemade hash brown, eggs, and oatmeal breakfast on this Sunday morn. Mmmmm....

It's now crystal clear blue sky and chilly out today!

Casey has ventured to the property to do some chainsawing, and I will join in a few hours to stack the wood. Maybe it sounds boring, but to have 5 acres......it is invigorating to us! ;) Come see it!

So good Justin, so good! I love the little girl running out of church/school! Her escape! Oh, sorry about your camera!

Mike, I have a no lyrics mix of your muzak that I play when we journal in class. The kids are into it! Along with Finding Neverland, Amelie, and the Millions Sdtrk. So cool! They actually begged me to play some during their Vocab. test. HA!

So hey, why don't I have Enya, Sarah McLachlan, Dido, or Finding Neverland on my Itunes!? Better yet, why aren't they on my Nano!??! Oh that's non-exist at this time ;)

Time to start busting out my Enya cds b/c they are awesome alone, but they always prepare me for the holidays and the good Lord!

Hope the Apple Butter Fest was fun and good weather! Happy mid-October! Off to settle some semester lesson plans once and for all, no more working at home!

(written Friday night, posted Saturday morning)

Hey, hi! We chainsawed and stacked firewood this afternoon for a few hours at our property! And tomorrow we’ll do some more! They will start framing the walls of our house early next week according to our builder! And they finished concreting the garage floor and some sidewalk slabs this week.

So, it was a productive school work week, getting ahead lessonwise, and feeling more settled. The students have come to know me, my, mine classroom. Although one little dude got suspended 1 day by my reporting on his behavior, disrespect, and taunting an innocent special ed student in my/his class.

Other than that, life is more positive.

More enthusiastic and I’m taking strides learning to “love my job”. ;) It is an easy job to enjoy, if you allow it. So I shall allow it.

God is good. God is moving. As always.

Now, now, Brucey baby mentions Christmas lists, but does not drop enough hints of his own on Christmas!? If I was in Bowling Green, Ohio, I would be studying and listening to you and things you like (let alone any fam member if we lived near)….but alas I am 3500 miles away and I must use blatanence (that’s not a word?) and direct instruction.

Oh sorry direct instruction is what and how Casey teaches reading every day – standardized test style, ha! Weird huh. Reading directions from a book day in and day out….

Anyways, all others don’t be ashamed to start listing gift ideas!

Go ‘stros! HA! to Bo’sox! Seeya! Speaking of Bo, Oct. 22, Friday night, we pick up Bo’s mail order wife! So cute! More blog later…..

“Stop with the angry eyebrows.” – funny quote from some mom to her 2 year old son on that Nanny one second ago.

A peanut butter shake to challenge even a Sonic shake?! I don't know, I don't know...it could be possible!?!

There are these little food shops at the most random places out here in the boonies, and most speciallize in "espressos", but the one has pizza and shakes and everything Perrysburg ice cream shop style.

It was a good (Mon)day to top off with one of those on the way home!

We found out there is an acre of property across the street from our property. Although it is not the absolute best property - huge steep hill into a flat, semi-low land, it would be neat to acquire at least for firewood, or even to put a small cabin on and resell for 10x the amount.

Dad, I've been enjoying your words of late! Keep that up! :)

Happy one less Monday to you all!

Cursed Indians!

Looks like Serenity is great movie according to the reviews and blogs of sorts. We shall strive harder to view it in theater, let alone Firefly someday.

And just when I was thinking I miss Justin's real words, he posts some sentences. But alas, video blogs are sweet, I just get mad at my dial up!

Went into school today, hopefully for the last time on a weekend. We're into week 5 and all the "up in the airs" seem to be landing and getting sifted through for organization. It's all about systems people! Systems for papers, paperwork, lessons, hand backs, and on and on. Ahhhh!

We got the Jeep back to our house at least now, and we'll have to get it worked on another month or so. Computers, cars, appliances - these things cause such uproar when they go down! But let's give some prayers up and out to the hurricane families.

Hope our house makes some progress this week! It seems to be at stand still. Off to resting and other Sunday whatnots.
