Pardon the non-correctable typo errors (like happened to Matt's YIR):

Here is my....(followed by a reg. entry :)

Year in Review: 2003
By: Mary Sanford

¡§This year...is gonna be incredible. This year... is gonna be the one...¡¨

¡V My YIR is accented by Chantal Kreviazuk¡¦s song ¡§This Year¡¨.

¡§January...I¡¦ll learn to fly.¡¨
We flew home from a fast and fun 2002 Ohioan Christmas with both families. For Christmas I got an IPOD from the padres! It changed my world of music enjoyment! To get everything home, we had to buy 2 huge plastic bins and shove, shove, shove it all together!

¡§February...loves gonna find me.¡¨I started coaching Chowchilla JV girls¡¦ softball, and we got a week off from school. It was a little baby summer of relaxing ƒº. Overall, this month I found the onset of sports back in my life as a much-needed lifesaver from the workaholic mentality of the school year.

¡§March, April, May...I¡¦ll get carried away!¡¨Coaching softball (& baseball for Case) took over our lives! We were busy with practice, games, and jumbling in some hilarious substitute teacher lesson plans. And after a semi-overcast, foggy Chowchilla winter, it was an amazing refreshment to be outdoors in the beautiful sun again.

¡§June . . . I¡¦ll paint my masterpiece¡¨OH YEAH! The break of all breaks! SUMMER! It started immediately with a bang as Casey¡¦s family flew out, rented a van, and condos all over California! We had a real bear buddy visit our window in Tahoe¡¦s freezing, windblown mountain condo. And then we had awesome tennis igniting in Ramona, CA (SoCal). Whatta great start to Summer 2003!

July ¡¨...I¡¦m gonna have fun!¡¨
The trip of lifetime began at the end of June, however, where we packed light personal items and heavy camping gear into our Jeep Cherokee! Quickly up through Oregon and Washington, we really hit the great wide open in British Columbia, Canada!

Beauty, wildlife, no humans: just Casey and I enjoying God¡¦s creation. We saw wild bear, big horned mt. sheep, moose, elk, porcupine, buffalo, bald eagles, and more. Making it to Anchorage was an oasis of relief. We rested, explored, settled in, and watched some fireworks.

Then the greatest idea ever overtook us: let¡¦s drive home and see our family! The surprise was one of the biggest and best ever pulled on our families, and we had an amazing reunion of food, folks, fun, movies, and tennis!

August ¡¨...I¡¦ll get to the top.¡¨
Back to reality, school is approaching. We left the Jeep to his parents/sister and flew home a week before school started. It was one of the best summers ever, minus the fact that we really didn¡¦t hit up San Diego for any length of time!ƒ¼

September & October ¡§...All the planets are lining up for me.¡¨These days were full of teach, teach, teaching but with a new laid back approach carefully prepared during the thousands of hours on the road this summer. Being organized and starting the year off right really paid off, and we hit the ground running through these fall months. Throw in a quick trip to San Diego Olympics and the fall semester is the furthest thing from our minds!

November ¡§...I¡¦ll reach the pinnacle.¡¨Coaching JV basketball began, and it was a pure enjoyment from day one! Such good athletes and my basketball knowledge made this season an easy and enjoyable start! November though, of course, is for Thanksgiving! And we celebrated in extreme style with a sunset reenactment of 30 year married parents, and a wonderful, quick time with all our fam in San Diego!

December ¡§...This year I¡¦m never gonna stop!¡¨
The weirdness of all Christmas and New Year¡¦s celebrations happened in 2003. No family, no friends, no flying home, just us and Bocifus Sanford in cold, rainy Chowchilla, California! It was some of the most relaxing weeks of our lives. We caught up on sleep, talked with friends and family via tele, watched tons of movies, gave each other gifts, and took care of Bo.

Hard core sleep took over this weekend for me, but excitedly other enjoyments went on.

Heard all about the Indians yesterday! Dad was most definitely #1 the whole week, too bad his team couldn't pick up the slack. How can one man do it all!?! .500 batting average, player of the game twice!? AWESOME!

Yesterday we drove the long way up to Yosemite. It was absolutely stunning with the sun shining and silence, coupled with solitude.

No humans were up there cluttering and ruining the enjoyment. We hiked in the snow for about 5 miles and looked at all the beauty towering over us.

I threw several snow balls and that was thrilling. Bocifus did not come with us, but it would have been more fun if he did. Update on him: he's used to us being at work all day and him in the garage---with no barking. Also, he sleeps from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. now :)

He's getting big. And after all these weeks, today is my goal for "PHOTOSHOP" finality on pics up for you all to see!

Sounds like Matt's interview went awesomely! Hoping with you!

Today will be finishing and posting my year in review as well as moping all around doing whatever comes to my head.

Casey starts baseball tomorrow, so he's at the field preparing it for the kiddies! 6 more games left in this wonderful sport I'm coaching! LOVE IT! More to come...

Got to talk to all three bros tonight and the sis-y-law Trace taboot!

Wish I could have talked to non-zombie papa y mama too longer. They sounded worn out but well worth the worn. With them earning "a renewed respect for the game of baseball".

So Matt enjoy the job process tomorrow, and hey did you get the new Spin yet? I did Monday....

Making a cd tonight to show up the kiddies warm up tape. They won't like b/c they have no taste in music. Pathetic. It's good to be different than the world though!

Well that last comment was unnecessarily too deep of a comment.

It's only the second half of 10 p.m. and it feels like it's 4 am.

A FRIDAY! YES! Whatta spasing week (how do we spell spaze or spase people please!)

Year in Review this weekend! Ahhh....settle in and I get to write in the peace of the weekend + a small trip to the mts. with Case dawg and maybe the dog Bo boy!

NO TIME TO BREATHE THIS WEEK!

We won again, they stunk, no offense!

HAHAHAHAHHAA! (copied last blog entry here)!

So the claim is TRACEY AND MARY RAN A 1/2 MARATHON!

It was a doozey of awesomeness. Will describe in detail this weekend, also my short year in review for any bored people to view!

So many games and travelling for them this week and the next 3 weeks. What's mom and dad up to!?

Why is games a link on my page?!?! I didn't do that...More to come....

We won! They stunk, no offense.

They were 2nd place in the league last year.....WHAT!?

So the claim is that this area (of CA) is all about football and volleyball. Basketball is no big deal to the communities.

We did some good things, and some slopppppp. Just pushing for team play: okay, a fine game.

TOMORROW SAN DIEGO! See you in about 12 hours M&T!

Thursday, January 15, 2004

Justin Edwards and Rich Mullins mixin' it up in PODville!

Something of a week here with oogles and whatsits galore, unreasonably spurratic!

You want thingamabobs, I've got plenty....hookinloggies!

Last word there is the claimed spelling of "hauck a loogie" (spit a grossie)....according to teenagers.

NONSENSE!

So this school week, the students have had to remind me almost every day: what day, what lesson we've already done, and what class period it is! HA!

That's what driving to the mts. for 3 hours on a Tuesday night will do to ya I presume.

Good chatty mo' matty with pops y mama/matteo san trace tonight! (that was spanish and italian mixed).

Big, BIG, game tomorrow for the kiddies! Can't wait to coach! Been having fun with those weirdies this week, and wish I could be in that mode 24/7 like my younger bro Justy! So fun! The ministry! YES!

What else: looking forward to "Adventure" the album, hearing from FLA, seeing Big Fish with M&T, something like 13.1 miles, and not having school on Mon.! Thank you Lord!

WHATTA WEEK!

I'm watching OC right now after a wonderfully mad JV team dinner at Kirbe's (a freshman) family's house!

It was silly and fun, and steak!

Tomorrow is Thurs. and that is unbelievably crazy! Our school has got coaches driving their own teams to games and a night rollling thru the mt. fog last night has gotten me whoooopin' tired!

We lost to an amazing Yosemite 5'9'' and taller school of people who play AAU ball together since they've turned 3 years old, and win Nat'l AAU championships every year.

The Chow team played their hearts out though, and did not give up! The other coaches even politely told me how we never gave up and it was fun to play us.

Loved seeing dad's Indians schedule and will refer to that throughout next week.

Happy recording J and Mike! Can't wait to see Matteo and my running buddy Tracey in "t-minus" 2.5 days! Woooooooooooooooooooooo!

Monday, January 12, 2004

Okay then! Monday happened.

Right now, I'm working online trying to figure how to spend $ 5 - 0 - 0 BUCKAROOS...on school stuff though of course.

Boombox, DVD/VCR, DVD's of books and short stories we read. Sure some Uniball roller pens all colors, yeah Office Depot will be purchased in full.

That weekend was a blur of just flat out relaxing and continuing that chill factor roll over from holiday time.

Looking forward to: seeing Big Fish (on video), Passion & Return of the King (in theater), our game tomorrow in the mts., hearing from dad in Fla., seeing Colts win, being on couples Fear Factor (jk, but that would be cool), SAN DIEGO THIS WEEKEND!

What about Great Race or Amazing Race (or what is that one show, you (Tracey) and Michelle were going to do?

I want to do some sort of fun outdoor challenge, even if it's not on TV. When we have acreage (love that word, spelling?), I will make up competitions and get people to do them with me...I hope someone will.

Yeah, so hey everyone there's a half marathon to run next Sunday! OH..MY!

Thursday, January 08, 2004

Happy Birthday Mateo the oldest Edwards bro!

Reinterating what all have mentioned, you're just an awesome guy, fun, inspiring, and leading! THANKS for being there for me! I love you and can't wait to celebrate a bit with ya next weekend :)

You have the same birthday as Lizett Hernandez. Junior @ Chowchilla High School. In Mrs. Sanford's 3rd period class. Just the facts.

So, today I did some shopping! Woo! Too fun! (side note: we all need to listen to "Green Peppers" by Herb (Albert). Put the whole cd on and cook a festive Italian meal with spices and breadsticks) ---okay that didn't happen here, but the album just plain rocks!

Just a minute ago I had to maneuver Operation Backlight Pod Escape!

After running my 5 tonight, I can't settle down yet, so I tried the POD's dish of Amelie soundtrack (still love it completely)! ALSO my people, All American Rejects are the funnest sing songy group you could ever swap and bop your head around too!

So changing the mix settings, setting it to 40 mins. sleep, and...hey wait, I'm getting back up and quickly before Casemiester wakes.

DUDES AND DUDETTES! Some oldie dad of a student of mine wants to buy my bug! At the Chow gaseous station he started asking about gas mileage blablabla that I made up and sort of tried to leave.

Then he's like "hmm...I like that little car" so I said, "Yeah, I tried to sell a few months ago--------STOP THE BORING STORY!

SO HERE I AM LOOKING UP IT'S BLUE BOOK VALUE and will call the business card he gave:)

Best blog letters today: Gremlin noises

Desiring time with God tonight!

Got used to Him this past break! He's doing great things!

P.s. Got a surprising bonus in our paychecks this month b/c we teach at a low income/low performing school.

Weird and great!

Tuesday, January 06, 2004

Yes. A good two days of work, yet I'm really really tired.

We won tonight! WOO!

I've been lazy on the kiddies bball website. Hopefully when I recover from this thing called work, I can make it more interesting----talking to dad mostly :) hee,hee on that one.

So I'm "slamming" my students with lotsa work, and not just slop work. Actual real, "become one with the vocab. work". They haven't complained yet, and actually I think they've been waiting for a good challenge----

Or they're too sleepy to speak yet!

I've been looking at cruises for some reason. Just got pumped about a rock climbing wall, bball courts, fitness centers, wade pools, putt-putt golf, and casinos...

Do people get sick on them though?

STILL WANT TO CLIMB the huge rock wall in Las Vegas. Yeah, SO, only 7-10 year olds were climbing it, but it's just too fun to see how huge and high it was in that glass tower!

Need to go back to Vegas soon anyways! Maybe a weekender after bball :)

What else, oh I read half of mike's blog and it started getting really good, so I printed the other half off!

Mike! Cherish every second of that time off of school! I love those times where you're just being and doing whatever you want and spending time with God, hearing awesome things!

Some good ones today on blog:

"matt turned funny and mean"

"poodles = no-no ever"

Tracey, also, I wanted to pass on a funny from Mike-o! Read the following now:

"Evergreen got delayed 2 hours today. I figured you would strongly strongly desire to know that." ---Hilarious!

Go farm schools!

Today was not too bad, not too bad at all. Oh except for the extreme internal fit thrown from the depths of Mary's being this morning.

Run 10 miles one day; go to work in what they call "morning" a;fkjeopwpjfewf... HOW MY SLOP, what the, how COULD SUCH ANGER BOIL SO QUICKLY AT AN ALARM CLOCK!

Oh it was one of those angers where you immediately laugh at yourself though.

The kiddies were silent. I to them, & they to I had many "heh, hey", "hi, yous", "oh yeah, I know all these people here" type of thoughts and facial expressions.

Not meaness or rudeness, just a quiet accepting of this day of school that came back into our lives. Know what I mean or no? Forget that drift! Must sleep now!

Saturday, January 03, 2004

Horrible game this afternoon. Players have problems and Monday's practice is severely going to address those problems.

Well, it was an emo day of complete anger for me. The refs, the team, the game. Unbelieveable.

I came home and slept till 10 p.m. as it is now. Was going to try my 10 miler this afternoon but just couldn't muster up the wanting to.

Gotta have the highs and lows I presume in coaching and in sports. Sure, cliche it up with in life there are too.

Now the hard part. How to react to the low...

Stayed up till 4 am last night and organized all my scrapbook and letter writing supplies.

Very fun, very draining.

Good news: I'm about 1 hour away from finishing, yeah I said FINISHING, my entire DC bball scrapbook. If you knew how much stuff I've collected and stored all these years for it you'd be proud of me.

Let's just say a "Clean Sweep" marathon on HGTV has gotten me even more psycho with purging the junk!

Hey, to all you who have your own home, feel blessed! B/c I'm so sick and tired of a boring, SUPER SMALL place where I can put no extra shelves or storage in! ANNOYING! Let alone no painting.

I was thinking how cool it would be to make my own, cheesy public television version of "Clean Sweep" up in Anchorage in a couple years. Like make my own little business---except I would have to learn or hire for carpentrey.

Cool. For some reason I have always, always loved organizing, cleaning, and interior design--especially floor plans!

Well, I didn't update my game (webpage) from Tuesday. Partly b/c I had not stat peeps that day, so there's nothing really to report. WE LOST! (current record: 4-3)

Tomorrow we play at 2:30 p.m. pacific standard time. The loser's bracket, ugh. Best we can do is 5th out of 8th! GROSS! (we start league play in a week and that's all that matters).

This JV squad o'mine won the league last year---looking for repeat! COME ON! I hate sometimes feeling like you're jinxed with winning.

Anyone playing at BG (or even DC) might know this stupid feeling. CHOKE! And my JV softy team last spring got 2nd place! SO DUMB! :)

To end on a positive. No school for many, many, MANY more hours!
